Accreditation
Panhandle Outpatient Surgery Center is currently seeking accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare, Inc. (AAAHC). The status as an accredited organization means Panhandle Outpatient Surgery Center has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality healthcare, set by AAAHC.
AAAHC is a private nonprofit organization formed in 1979. It is a leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality care, and value for ambulatory healthcare through peer-based accreditation processes, education, and research. Certificates of accreditation are awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with AAAHC standards.
AAAHC currently accredits more than 6,000 organizations in a wide variety of ambulatory healthcare settings, including ambulatory surgery centers, community health centers, medical and dental group practices, medical home practices, and managed care organizations, as well as Indian and student health centers, among others. AAAHC is also the official accrediting organization for the U.S. Coast Guard.
With a single focus on the ambulatory care community, AAAHC offers organizations a cost-effective, flexible, and collaborative approach to accreditation.
